Today I cried….

Today I cried because I saw  pain in the eyes of our community.

Today I cried because we lost a spark in our world.

Today I cried because I saw darkness seemingly win over light.

Today I cried because I saw pain I couldn’t heal.

Today I cried because I felt helpless in a storm of hurt.

Today I cried because the frailty of life became real again.

Today I cried because I felt weak and needed to be strong.

But…….

Today I was comforted because I saw compassion rise from sorrow.

Today I was comforted because I saw empathy born from loss.

Today I was comforted because  I saw love triumph over pain.

Today I was comforted because I saw family caring for family.

Today I was comforted because I saw strength born from weakness.

Today I was comforted because I heard connection beyond boundaries.

Today I cried……
